I can not count the number of hours that I have spent digging around in Joomla code to find a word or phrase that I don’t want displayed in a template or component. Hours.

Tonight I found a plug-in that is so good that it makes me want to dance around like an idiot. ReReplacer welcome to my component library. I LOVE you.

So basically you:

1. Install the component.

2. Click “New” to create a new search.

3. Specify what words you are looking for, set your parameters and decide whether you want to have the words disappear (leave it blank) or specify a new phrase to replace it.

4. Hit apply and you’re done. Seriously.

The beauty about this plugin is that it saves your search. So if you ever need to go back and put a word or phrase back into the code of your template or component, no prob. You just go back to your search and put the words back into the “replace” field and you’re good to go.

With all the time I save I can take up origami.
